------The front desk manager was very helpful, even upgraded us to a better room. When we wanted to make a day trip to Halong bay, we were told to pay USD 130/pax for private tour, which was outside out budget. However, another staff managed to find alternative at USD 46. We thought that was a bargain. However, upon checking at the tour, the package was sold at USD 30 only. well you win some and lose some.

--------Horison is a good deal if you are staying a short time in Hanoi and your needs are focused in surrounding areas of town. It is not among the best 5 stars in town, but in case of getting a good rate; it could be a good deal. Not too far from downtown, it doesn't have so hot location as Melia, Somerset or Hilton.
In case you get a good rate as I did, then Horison is a good deal for Hanoi. If your stay is short, or your location must be close to National or International convention centers, then it is very worthy. If you are looking for downtown location, or for a real 5 star hotel, Horison is not the place to be. Any other like Melia, Hilton, and Somerset are offering better services and rooms. Facilities in Horison are average service also and details are not so easy to find in this 4 and half star hotel.
